Anniversary

We just celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary, our first as a family of three.  If we lived in Hollywood, people would be coming to us for marriage advice – seven years is a long time in Tinseltown!  Seven years is a long time anywhere, though, and marks just one of our numbers:

13 years together (I think)

7 years married

2 apartments

3 houses

2 cats

1 fabulous baby

The weather on our anniversary this year was just as it was on our wedding day – raining.  It had rained for a week straight before our wedding and I had accepted that we were going to have a soggy day.  I made a plea to the powers that be for a few hours of sunshine…and we got them.  We had dry pictures and a dry ceremony, and then a magnificent clear tent that made the rain seem dreamy after dark and kept everyone dry when the thunder and lightning forced the band to stop playing.  After that, I never complained about rain anymore.  Rain just reminds me of my wedding day.

Here are some of my favorite photos from us then, and a few at the bottom of us in July.

These beautiful family photos were made by Julianna Boehm Photography.  The uber talented Laura Leppert took our wedding photos, and some of her favorite selections can still be seen on her old blog, here.

S’mores, please

Just over here waiting to inaugurate this fire pit, super ready to kiss this summer weather goodbye.

This crazy fire pit is a custom thing, the lid to an industrial beverage tank.  Once it was scuffed up to rust and had some feet and handles added, it became the neatest (and heaviest – seriously, it is never moving) fire pit I’ve seen.
