We had the opportunity for a trip to Curacao last week – you know, one of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) down off the coast of Venezuela where they speak Dutch and Papamientu and the snorkeling is awesome. This super arid island was selected for our beach lounging because it really rarely rains there. We visited during the dry season, additionally, when there was a highly acceptable 0%-9% chance of a light shower on any given day in June. The weather held beautifully, and we carefully avoided the blazing sun for some appropriate activities: hats were worn, books were read, pina coladas were enjoyed, and the Curacaoan Coast Guard kept the coast well patrolled.
Have I mentioned that my favorite color is turquoise?
