Before getting too distracted by things like festivals and barbecues, remember what (and who) we’re remembering on this holiday, too.
Tonight’s colorful dinner was made possible by Fair Ridge Farms.
Ain’t radishes grand?
And tonight’s entertainment was provided by the storm rolling through…
There’s no method to my list of favorite things. One of them is this rock. Maybe it is a “stone” because it is round, but it is heavy. Found during one of my other favorite things (on a canoe trip!), it sits out on my deck table in a place of prominence – right next to my favorite triangular rock, but that’s a whole different post.
It has the perfect heft, fits satisfactorily in the palm of my hand, and appears to have been nicely squished into an egg shape when looked at from the side…I like to think there are crazy gravitational forces forming that sphere of stone into a new planet, à la an accretion disc, and that it will spin right off my deck one day.
What, wasn’t planetary physics everyone’s favorite college class?
